I have enabled a new feature on the site that will allow registered users to contribute stories! This was added as a result of Bruce's idea to post tales of Opa "The Legend" on the site. The content type will be listed as a "Book Page", and any signed in user will be able to post one. The best part of it is all of the posted stories will automatically be organized in the form of pages and chapters in a book, so we can use this to build biographies. I have created the first book, and called it "Oscar George Busboom".

Oscar George Busboom, 79, passed away Friday, November 27, 2009 at an acute care facility in West Allis, Wisconsin.

He was born on February 28, 1930, in Gifford, Illinois, the son of George and Anna (Hinrichs) Busboom.

He received his pilot's license at the age of 16, and graduated from Rantoul Township High School in 1947.

He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1948 and proudly served during the Korean War, being stationed in occupied Japan until 1952.

In honor of our Dad and Opa, this website is hereby dedicated to Oscar G. Busboom, and is now available for all to view and contribute memories of our wonderful family. Opa passed away on November 27th, 2009 at the age of 79. He was a very talented and creative person who would have enjoyed visiting this site, and we hope the memories that can be found here will allow him to live on with us forever. Opa was a very special man who will be loved and felt in our lives always.

Welcome to BusboomFamily.com! This site was thought up several months ago while looking at boxes of photos with my mother (Brenda Patchel). I realized that there are TONS of photos out there that many people may not have copies of, or likely have not even seen! Being a technical guy who has done freelance web sites in the past, I figured I would be the best person to build this archive. Since the day I became interested in creating this site, I have also thought of other things I can add, such as blogs for anyone who wants to keep one, a family calendar of events, even a genealogy page.
